Welcome to the Journal of Surveying and Geoinformatics (JSG)

The Journal of Surveying and Geoinformatics (JSG) is dedicated to publishing innovative and high-quality research in the fields of surveying, geospatial technologies, and land management. The journal seeks to promote the integration of traditional surveying methods with cutting-edge geoinformatics solutions to tackle the unique challenges faced by the surveying and land management sectors in Nigeria and beyond.

By providing a platform for interdisciplinary research, JSG aims to bridge the gap between academia, industry professionals, and policymakers, driving forward the development of sustainable and effective land management solutions in Africa.

Aims and Scope

The Journal of Surveying and Geoinformatics (JSG) publishes high-quality research articles, critical reviews, and case studies in the following areas:

  • Surveying and Mapping: Techniques and innovations in land surveying, GNSS, and remote sensing.

  • Geoinformatics: The application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), spatial data analysis, and geospatial technologies in land management and urban planning.

  • Land Administration and Management: The role of geospatial tools in land tenure systems, property rights, and land registration processes.

  • Urban and Rural Planning: The use of geospatial technologies in planning and managing urban growth, land use, and infrastructure development.

  • Spatial Data Science: Methodologies for analyzing and interpreting spatial data, including machine learning and big data analytics.

  • Legal and Policy Aspects: The impact of legislation and policies on land administration and the surveying profession in Nigeria and Africa.

We welcome contributions that explore innovative applications of geospatial and surveying technologies to address the pressing challenges of land management, urbanization, and sustainable development in Nigeria and across Africa.
